Malgorzata Staszewska, born in Cracow’s family of musicians, graduated in 2007 from the University of Georgia in the USA, holding a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Violin Performance. She started playing violin at the age of six and continued as a student of the Cracow Primary and Secondary Music Schools. In 1999 she graduated from the Academy of Music in Cracow (Music Conservatory) earning a diploma with distinction and immediately was offered a full-time position in a prestigious Cracow’s chamber orchestra Capella Cracoviensis. Malgorzata was a member of the orchestra in the artistic season of 1999-2000. Her motivation for further development resulted in postgraduate studies in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg, and in the USA at the State University of Illinois (UIUC) in Urbana-Champaign. From UIUC Malgorzata transferred to University of Georgia to fulfill her dream and be in a class of Levon Ambartsumian (www.ambartsumian.com), a pupil of Kogan and former faculty at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, Russia. Among her violin teachers are also Ewa Jargon, Magdalena Rezler, Peter Schaffer, Danwen Jiang, and Valerie Gardner. While pursuing a DMA degree in violin performance, Malgorzata also completed a full master-level viola performance course under the tutelage of Dr. Mark Neumann, a Juilliard graduate. In 2000 Malgorzata was awarded a scholarship from the Kosciuszko Foundation allowing her to attend The Manchester Music Festival in Vermont, USA. Additionally, she participated in numerous solo, chamber and orchestral music courses in Europe and the USA. Among them are the International Music Courses in Lancut, Poland, ABAM course in Odensee, Denmark, the Chamber Music Master Course, Academy of Cracow, Poland, and Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, Germany). Malgorzata received master classes from Kronos Quartet, Prague Quartet, Eudice Shapiro, Antoni Cofalik, Antoine Tamestit, and Carmelo de los Santos. She performed solo with Capella Cracoviensis, the UGA Symphony Orchestra (as a winner of the UGA Concerto Competition), and ARCO Chamber Orchestra (formerly the Moscow Chamber Orchestra) with which she recorded a CD as a soloist. Being an active orchestral musician, Malgorzata enjoyed a concertmaster or assistant concertmaster chair in the ARCO Chamber Orchestra, the Southern Georgia Symphony, the Ocmulgee Symphony, both Symphony Orchestras of the universities in Illinois and Georgia, and the Symphony of the Music Academy in Cracow. Dr. Staszewska is also a passionate violin and viola teacher with ten years of experience in pedagogy. She was assigned as a violin teaching assistant at both universities in the USA, held an instructor position at the UGA Community Music School, and taught at the Cambridge Academy of Music and Arts in Atlanta. Other pedagogical activity of Dr. Staszewska include presenting a violin master class at Gardner Violin Academy in Georgia, teaching at the UGA summer camp, coaching chamber ensembles in Georgia ASTA workshops in the USA, and recently serving as a judge in renowned competition Jugend Musiziert in Koblenz, Germany. Her outstanding students were concertmasters and soloists of youth symphonies, winners of the All-State auditions as well as Concerto and Talent competitions. After two seasons of performing in German orchestras, Spring 2010 brings Malgorzata back to Poland where she is on the faculty list of the Music School in Limanowa. In the coming summer she will join the international faculty of the Grumo Festival and Courses in Italy. As a recitalist, Malgorzata cooperates with recognized Polish pianist and chamber musician Maria Daroch at the Contemporary Music Club Malwa in Cracow.
	Małgorzata Staszewska, urodzona w Krakowie w rodzinie muzyków, jest absolwentką Uniwersytetu Stanowego Georgii (UGA) w Athens w USA, który ukończyła w 2007 roku z tytułem Doktora Sztuk Muzycznych w dziedzinie gry na skrzypcach. Naukę gry na instrumencie rozpoczęła w wieku sześciu lat i kontynuowała jako uczennica Krakowskich Szkół Muzycznych I i II stopnia. W roku 1999 ukończyła Akademię Muzyczną w Krakowie dyplomem z wyróżnieniem i otrzymała pracę w orkiestrze kameralnej Capella Cracoviensis w sezonie artystycznym 1999-2000. Studia uzupełniające podjęła w Hochschule für Musik we Freiburgu w Niemczech oraz w Uniwersytecie Stanowym Illinois (UIUC) w Urbana-Champaign w USA, skąd transerowała do Georgii. Do grona jej skrzypcowych pedagogów należą Doc. Ewa Jargoń, Prof. Magdalena Rezler, Prof. Danwen Jiang, Dr. Levon Ambartsumian, oraz Prof. Valerie Gardner. Podczas studiów w USA Małgorzata ukończyła w ramach drugiego fakultetu grę na altówce pod kierunkiem Dr. Marka Neumanna.     Małgorzata jest stypendystką Fundacji Kościuszkowskiej, laureatką konkursu UGA w 2005 roku, oraz uczestniczką licznych kursów skrzycowych i kameralnych w Europie i USA (Manchester Music Festival w Vermont w USA, Międzynarodowe Kursy Muzyczne w Łańcucie, Kurs Orkiestrowy ABAM w Danii, Mistrzowski Kurs Kameralny Akademii Muzycznej w Krakowie, Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart). Otrzymała lekcje mistrzowskie pod kierunkiem Kwartetu Kronos, Kwartetu Praskiego, Prof. Eudice Shapiro, Dr Carmelo de los Santos, oraz Prof. Antoniego Cofalika.     Koncertowała solo z Capellą Cracoviensis, Orkiestrą Symfoniczną UGA, a także Orkiestrą Kameralną ARCO (uprzednio Moskiewska Orkiestra Kameralna) z którą dokonałą nagrania CD jako solistka. Będąc aktywnym muzykiem orkiestrowym koncertmistrzowała takim zespołom jak Orkiestra Kameralna ARCO, Southern Georgia Symphony, The Ocmulgee Symphony, orkiestry uniwersytetów w Illinois i Georgii, oraz Orkiestra Akademii Muzycznej w Krakowie.     Małgorzata jest również pełnym pasji pedagogiem skrzypiec i altówki z dziesięcioletnim doświadczeniem jako asystent na obydwu uniwersytetach w USA, instruktor w Community Music School przy uniwersytecie w Georgii, a także w Cambridge Academy of Music and Arts w Atlancie. Udzieliła lekcji mistrzowskiej w Gardner Violin Academy w USA, uczyła na kursie letnim Uniwersytetu UGA oraz prowadziła zespoły kameralne na warsztatach Georgia ASTA w USA. Jej uczniowie pełnili funkcję koncertmistrzów, wygrywali rokrocznie konkursy stanowe All-State, konkursy talentów, a także konkursy na najlepsze wykonanie koncertu i występowali solo z orkiestrą.     Od wiosny 2010 Małgorzata jest nauczycielką skrzypiec w Państwowej Szkole Muzycznej w Limanowej. Pełni również funkcję instruktora oraz solistki letniego kursu Grumo Festival we Włoszech od sezonu 2009. W lutym 2010 roku zasiliła grono jurorów w konkursie muzycznym Jugend Musiziert w Niemczech. Współpracuje z uznaną pianistką kameralną Marią Daroch oraz Klubem Muzyki Współczesnej „Malwa” w Krakowie.
